UPDATE: We have had several questions regarding student access to MyEdBC. We are exploring the possibility of student accounts but at this time students do not have access to MyEdBC.
Your student’s Term 1 report card is available to view now in the MyEdBC Family Portal. Elective Assessment reports, student fee statements and IEPs will be sent home this afternoon with your student.
If you have requested a paper copy of your student’s report card it will be sent home this afternoon with your student.
IEPs will be sent home in a sealed envelope. Please sign the enclosed letter indicating you have received your IEP and return the letter to the school with your student.

We have activated the MyEdBC Family/Parent portal this afternoon to give parents/guardians the ability to access the site before report cards are issued. Our intention is to have any password and login issues resolved prior to issuing the report cards. Given that this is the first few hours of having the portal active technical issues will arise. We ask for your patience as we work to resolve these issues.
Our Term 1 report cards will be issued through the Family/Parent portal Friday morning with any attachments sent home with your student. An email will be sent to your email address indicating that your student’s report card is available to view in the MyEdBC Family/Parent portal.

SD 60 Technology Services will be activating the MyEdBC Family/Parent portal this afternoon. If you have an active email address registered with the school and you are the student’s primary contact, you should receive an email from firstname.lastname@example.org.
The email will include a temporary password allowing you access to the portal. Your username is your email address. If you do not receive an email by the end of the school day, please ensure you have checked your junk or spam folders.
Once you have successfully set a new password, you will now have access to the Family/Parent portal. We will be issuing Term 1 report cards through the portal by the end of this week.

Due to freezing rain and road conditions, Dr. Kearney school bus students will be dismissed at 1 pm to catch their school bus home.
Classes are in session and Dr. Kearney will remain open. For all students, other than school bus students, our normal dismissal time of 2:09 pm applies.
Earlier today we sent a letter to all parents/guardians that have an email on file with the school. We will be using the MyEdBC Family Portal starting in early December. DKMS MyEdBC Family Portal
DK parents and guardians are invited to an information session about the family portal in MyEducationBC, our province’s student information system. The portal provides parents and guardians access to student grades, attendance and report cards. At the information session we will discuss how to access the portal, how to find your student’s information and other benefits.

All students who ordered cookie dough, the orders are in and will be ready for pick up Friday, November 17 from 3:11-4:30.
If there are any missing or broken items, they must be returned with the order sheet (no order sheet needed for online orders) by November 27th.

When and how are report cards going to be issued to students?
Reports cards will be issued through the parent portal on MyEdBC. An email will be sent to you indicating that the report card is available to view online. Report cards will be available online December 8th by 3:00 pm. Please ensure you have a valid email address on file at the school so that we can send you login information and an email notification when report cards are available to view. We will be hosting a parent information night to explain how the parent portal works, how to login and the benefits of this program for communication with you. Stay tuned for the date and time of this information night.

The attached letter from Minister of Education, Rob Fleming, discusses changes to the Grade 10-12 new curriculum implementation timeline as well as information regarding the new Provincial Literacy Assessment and Provincial Numeracy Assessment.
How will this change affect Grade 9 students:
“Students currently in Grade 9 and younger will continue their learning with the new curriculum throughout their graduation years. Students in this group will participate in the 2018 Graduation Program, and take the new graduation assessments” – Minister Fleming.

Charlie’s Chocolate Factory is our major school fundraiser this year. The money earned goes towards our student activities such as the Winter Luncheon for students, Winter & Spring Fun Days and student recognition.
FREE SAMPLES: We have received samples from Charlie’s of their milk and dark chocolate – parents are welcome to stop in for a taste test.

Orders must be placed on-line or returned to the school by Friday, November 10th. The orders will arrive at the school around December 1st and students will deliver orders by December 22nd.
