The school is having grade meetings this week to review some expectations. As we head into the warmer months, we begin to experience some difficulties in these areas.
- Appropriate Dress for Middle School
- Clothing is not to advertise drugs or alcohol or related paraphernalia.
- Clothing cannot involve nudity, sexism, racism, sexual content, or other harmful messages.
- Girls need to watch the length of shorts and skirts. Tops need to cover the torso.
- See through fabrics are not appropriate for either gender.
- Students will be asked to change or cover up. If necessary they may have to stay in the office or go home to change. To date the students have been very understanding and cooperative when discussing appropriate clothing.
- Staying on Campus
- Only grade 9 students may leave the campus at lunch and they are expected to be on time for their afternoon classes.
- No students are to leave campus during the break.
- Grade 7 and 8 students, with parent permission, may go home to eat lunch. If they wish to go to a store or restaurant parents need to pick them up.
- TAG/Lunch
- TAG is part of our school culture. Students are not to miss TAG in order to have a longer lunch.
- Assemblies
- Assemblies are also part of our school culture. Students are not to contact parents for permission to leave the school and opt out of the assemblies.
- Guests
- Visitors are to report to the office and receive permission to visit the school. Generally students from other schools will not be allowed to visit.
If you have any questions about the grade meetings and items that were discussed, please contact the school and make an appointment to speak with either the principal, Wes McKnight, or the vice principal, Jerelyn Orcutt.
