Our second Enrichment will begin on December 6, 2021. Students need to choose one of the following and fill out the form that was sent to their learn60 email.   

Performance & ProductionActing on stage and behind the scenes.  You must be willing to try both.
Become a Referee: BasketballLearn the rules, producers and protocols of basketball and how to interpret and apply them. Learn to scorekeep and officiate.  Ref local elementary school basketball games.
Yearbook
Board GamesStrategy games (such as Catan) and classics (such as Clue, Trivial Persuit, and Jenga).* Games not limited to those listed.
Dungeons and DragonsDungeons and Dragons is a co-operative role-playing game. It is not a boardgame; you can’t win or beat it. Instead, you and your friends are making choices in the world through a character you create. There is usually a story taking place (save the town from the dragon!) and the choices players make affect the world. It’s equal parts: story telling, improv, and a bit of math. Also, cool multi-sided coloured dice!
Criminal Mindsexploring the criminals of our history and world. including mafia bosses, kidnappers, serial killers, cult leaders what drives them to do what they do.
Game DesignExplore various aspects of board and video game design (character, story, strategy, gameplay, graphics, mechanics, etc). *Could be a collaboration with Game Strategy. Will include small projects and some coding.
Kearney’s Tourney’sFor those who like games related to sports. Tournaments in ping-pong, table hockey, ministicks, foosball, and various PS4 sports games
Dooms of DisneyWill watch and analyze the good and the bad of disney. (will compare and contrast the old to the new) look into why they didnt recreate some
Cat ClubFor those who love cats. We will be working with the North Peace Forgotten Feline Animal Rescuse to support their kitties through the winter months.
Elementary JapaneseLearn how to write & speak the Japanese alphabet(Katakana/Hiragana/Kanji). Get into some vocab. Hopefully learn how to say basic sentences by the end. Come ready to learn.
Reading / HomeworkA quiet space for reading and/or catching up on schoolwork. Tutoring available. An emphasis will be placed on creating a calm working environment.
GardeningLearning the basics of starting your garden, caring for the school tower gardens.
Art ClubBring the art you are interesting in pursuing. Oppotunities to participate in school wide art, bulletin boards, decorations, etc. Beaded lanyards.
Jazz ChoirCome and join us for some upbeat singing and performing. We will work with back up online accompaniment and piano and guitar. Performance for a Christmas show. No experience is necessary.

School NewsCreate a news show about our school. Interviews, sports, house updates, entertainment and website news
Dream Vacation

Film StudiesExplore themes and aspects of film as an artform and science, use of different movies to showcase new concepts
KnittingBring your own yarn (all accessible through Walmart, about $15 for the first project). Students will learn all of the basics and even some advanced skills depending on how quickly they knit through projects. This includes choosing materials/tools, reading patterns, casting-on, knitting/purling, casting-off, and binding-off. ​Crochetters welcome, but bring your own project. Students can take knitting club over and over again.
Chess ClubLearn the game of chess or work on refining your skills in this amazing game!
Needlework/Hand CraftsLearn how to hand sew, cross stitch and felt. Create felted toys, mittens and ornaments. possibly try machine stitching.
Trading card games and Game strategyMagic, Yugioh, Pokémon. Will do some deck building, drafts, theory crafting, could combine with game design to help build games students are interested in
