Important Dates:

  • November 21 ad 23 – auditions for the Christmas talent show at lunch and after school
  • November 23 and 24 – Early dismissal – parent-teacher conferences
  • November 25 – No school for students – parent-teacher conferences 
    • Call Lora at 250 785 8378 or contact your child’s teacher to book an appointment.
  • December 5 – Report cards will be posted on MyEd BC.
  • December 9 – Talent show – this will be during the day.  As soon as times are finalized, we will let parents know  Parents are welcome to attend. 

 

Important Information:

  • Social Media App –  Be Real (a similar version is coming out through tik tok). More information in the admin section.  Please caution students that they should not be posting pictures of other students without their permission.   This app requires uses to video 2 minutes – front and back cameras – whenever a notification goes out.  
  • Report It – https://erasereportit.gov.bc.ca/  Please walk students through this way to report concerns.  There are QR codes placed around the school to make accessing the site easy. 
  • As it gets colder outside, please remind students of proper hallway behaviour. 
      • No running or horseplay in hallways
      • Walk on the right side
      • Do not congregate in hallways
      • Realize that you will get bumped in the hallways because of how crowded it is, please be courteous and extend grace – most of the time it is unintentional. 
    • Absences – To verify a child’s absence, please call Barb Chaput at 250 785 8378 or email her at bchaput@prn.bc.ca
  • Breakfast Program – The breakfast program is up and running! It is served in the Yak Shack daily at 8:15-8:45 am and there are grab and go options for students that show up later
  • Indigenous Program – Indigenous Support Teacher Mr. Lovell is available on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the CRC room for academic support. Tuesday and Thursday for in classroom support. Sylvia (Indigenous Support Worker) is available for in-class and in-office support Monday to Friday.
  • Holiday PJ Drive – Our annual holiday PJ drive has begun and runs through to December 9. House points will be awarded for donations. This year’s donations will go to Community Bridge.
  • Holiday Food Drive – Our annual food drive will begin on November 22 and run through to December 14. House points will be awarded for donations. This year’s donations will go to the Women’s Resource Centre.
  • Purdys Fundraiser – A thank you to our DK community for all your support. We’re still unsure of the final totals but it looks like the school will be receiving around $3,000 for student activities. The orders are supposed to arrive on December 1. Once they have been sorted you will be able to collect them.
