The Satisfaction Survey is an annual province-wide census of Grades 4, 7, 10 and 12 students, their parents and staff in public schools. The questions were developed with input from partner groups, teachers and experts in educational measurement and special education. We ask that the parents/guardians of our Grade 7 students complete the survey by April 27, 2018.
It usually takes about 10 minutes to complete the required survey questions. The survey is anonymous. If you have questions regarding the survey, please feel free to contact the Dr. Kearney Administration.
To complete the survey, please click the link. You can complete the survey using the Direct Access section located in the Parents portion of the website.
Thank you for your participation!

Due to the forecast extreme cold weather all School District 60 bus runs are cancelled Friday, January 12, 2018. Dr. Kearney will be open and classes will be in session.
This year at DKMS, our Bridging the Gap group is getting back out there. And we have t-shirts now! Logo courtesy of Paige Townsend, one of our talented students.
Bridging the Gap is a DKMS project head by one of our counsellors, Crystal Anielewicz. Students visit the Peace Villa Residential Care facility once a month to massage the shoulders of the residents (and staff). This is a wonderful opportunity for students at Dr. Kearney to give back to our community and to make lasting connections with many of the elders in Fort St. John. The students are taught basic massage techniques by RMT, Christine Sutherland, who visits us throughout the year. Christine has piloted Bridging the Gap in various communities in Canada and internationally. To see this project in action, watch the short You Tube film “Bridging the Gap Fort St. John.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWTSRaZPXDE

UPDATE: We have had several questions regarding student access to MyEdBC. We are exploring the possibility of student accounts but at this time students do not have access to MyEdBC. We recommend that you access the MyEdBC Family Portal using a computer. If you are accessing the portal on a mobile device: http://www.prn.bc.ca/myedbc/?p=499
Your student’s Term 1 report card is available to view now in the MyEdBC Family Portal. Elective Assessment reports, student fee statements and IEPs will be sent home this afternoon with your student.
If you have requested a paper copy of your student’s report card it will be sent home this afternoon with your student.
IEPs will be sent home in a sealed envelope. Please sign the enclosed letter indicating you have received your IEP and return the letter to the school with your student.

We have activated the MyEdBC Family/Parent portal this afternoon to give parents/guardians the ability to access the site before report cards are issued. Our intention is to have any password and login issues resolved prior to issuing the report cards. Given that this is the first few hours of having the portal active technical issues will arise. We ask for your patience as we work to resolve these issues.
Our Term 1 report cards will be issued through the Family/Parent portal Friday morning with any attachments sent home with your student. An email will be sent to your email address indicating that your student’s report card is available to view in the MyEdBC Family/Parent portal.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
SD 60 Technology Services will be activating the MyEdBC Family/Parent portal this afternoon. If you have an active email address registered with the school and you are the student’s primary contact, you should receive an email from email@example.com.
The email will include a temporary password allowing you access to the portal. Your username is your email address. If you do not receive an email by the end of the school day, please ensure you have checked your junk or spam folders.
Once you have successfully set a new password, you will now have access to the Family/Parent portal. We will be issuing Term 1 report cards through the portal by the end of this week.

Due to freezing rain and road conditions, Dr. Kearney school bus students will be dismissed at 1 pm to catch their school bus home.
Classes are in session and Dr. Kearney will remain open. For all students, other than school bus students, our normal dismissal time of 2:09 pm applies.
Earlier today we sent a letter to all parents/guardians that have an email on file with the school. We will be using the MyEdBC Family Portal starting in early December. The letter should be in your inbox, if not, please check your spam or junk folders. The letter can be found below for your convenience. In early December, you will receive another email with your login information for the MyEdBC Family Portal. If you do not have an email address on file, please contact Lora at the school office to have one put on file.
